The Works Dance Company

"Never miss a chance to dance"

My name is Kenzie. I'm the owner of The Works Dance Company. Just to tell you a little bit about myself, I was born and raised in North Carolina. I started dancing at a very young age (about 3 or 4). My dance teacher used to call me a "Show Boat". I've always loved to dance and preform. I also took gymnastics and cheer for a little while. When I was 12 years old I found a love for hip hop and decided to dance competitively. I was a First National Grand Champion and over all winner in Tennessee. My team competed in many states and all together was undefeated.
I got my first dance teaching job when I was 15 or 16 and I knew from then on teaching dance was something I always wanted to do. I had a passion for it!  When I was 18 I started a dance program teaching dance in elementary schools through the YMCA. Those kids became my life and are actually the ones that came up with the idea of opening up my own studio.
Since then I have moved to Texas and taught professionally, continuing to educate myself through IAP Career College and  started up a homeschool dance program through another studio.  My family then decided to move to the Charleston, SC area where I offer another dance program through the YMCA and have opened "The Works". I look forward to meeting and seeing every student grow in something they love.

I am the assistant manager for The Works Dance Co.I have been a secretary for 15 plus years, I have also been involved in cheer, dance, gymnastics and party fitness for many years. I love working with children. I am definitely a people person. I enjoy sports and staying active. I look forward to working with each and every one of you.
